The news I’ve been waiting for…

Ashley McBryde has a new album on the way.

She officially (and finally) announced that her fourth studio album The Devil I Know will be out everywhere on September 8th, the follow-up to her 2022 Grammy-nominated collaborative concept project called Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, which was recently nominated for a Grammy in the Best Country Album category (though Willie Nelson ultimately took home the award).

She released her last solo studio album Never Will in 2020, and won her first Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance with Carly Pearce for their duet “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” last year.

Ashley shared the news about her new record on Instagram, saying that the theme will focus on her deeply personal internal struggles as both an artist and a person:

“‘You guys are great but you’re a little too rock and roll.’ Man y’all are good but you need less tender songs.’ ‘If there’s such a thing as too country, that song is it.’

You spoke. I listened. ‘The Devil I Know.’ September 8. Buckle up. Pre-save / pre-add / pre-order at the link in bio/stories. Oh, and ‘Learned To Lie’ is out now, too… surprise!”

I love what appears to be the album cover, too, with five different versions of Ashley, which is a really neat visual that makes me all the more intrigued to hear the full project:

She previously released the lead single “Light On In The Kitchen” in February, and the title track in April.

And today, Ashley dropped a heart-wrenching new one called “Learned To Lie” that I was really hoping would make the cut on her next project.

Of course, Ashley is one of the best, most authentic artists in mainstream country right now, so make sure you mark this one on the calendar and stay tuned for more soon…
