Lainey Wilson On The Uncertainty Surrounding ‘Yellowstone’ Season 5: “I Have No Clue What’s Going On”

Lainey Wilson doesn’t know what’s going on, either.

During her appearance at Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California this weekend, Lainey spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the future of the hit series.

Rumors have been circulating for a while now that Season 5 will be the last season of the show, which is currently on a mid-season break… and they have yet to start filming again.

And while nothing official has been announced by the network or creator Taylor Sheridan, it seems likely that the beloved show is coming to a close in the near future.

Lainey made her acting debut as a character named Abby this season, and says it’s been a great experience for her thus far:

“It’s crazy, you know? They’ve honestly just welcomed me with open arms. They have just treated me like one of their own.

I didn’t really know what to expect, especially the first day of set, but they treated me with respect.”

She added that music will always be her first love and main focus, but acting is similar to it in a lot of ways in terms of self-expression:

“I started out doing music, and that’s always going to be my focus.

That’s my way of expressing myself, and they have a different way of expressing themselves and being creative. But [there] was this mutual respect for each other.”

Though she also admitted that, somehow, the TV business is even crazier than the music biz (which is pretty hard to believe), she was planning to get an update on the whole situation from Taylor this weekend, since they were both there at Stagecoach on Sunday.

She also said she has “no clue what’s going on,” and had no insider secrets to share with all of us:

“I’m planning on getting an update today. It’s wild. Like, just tell me when, man. Yeah, I have no clue what’s going on… I’m waiting on that phone call.

I feel like I’ve learned that TV business is even crazier than the music business. And that’s the truth.”

Unfortunately, it sounds like this interview took place before she got a chance to talk to him, so we’ll have to hold out a little bit longer to figure out the real future of Yellowstone.

Either way, after watching Lainey this season, I think she has a future in acting regardless of what show or any of that going forward.

Many of her fellow actors on the show were also there at Stagecoach to perform for the massive California crowd, like Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton) who made his festival debut, and Ryan Bingham, who plays Walker on the show but has been a very well-respected musician for many years prior to Yellowstone.

And on a related note, it looked like the Louisiana native Miss Lainey absolutely rocked it this weekend, per the usual:
