This is gonna be GOOD…

During the CMT Music Awards Nominee Special last night, Cody Johnson revealed that he and Carrie Underwood recorded a duet for the new album he’s been working on.

And that is, quite literally, music to my ears.

They’re two of the strongest vocalists in mainstream country music, and I can only imagine whatever they’ve come up with is going to sound incredible, purely just because they can both sing the phone book and make it sound like it should be nominated for a Grammy.

CoJo told CMT’s Cody Alan that they actually just recorded it very recently, adding that she is a total pro and pleasure to work with:

“I actually just recorded a duet with her yesterday for my new album coming out.

And so getting to know her, man, she is such a pro, and everybody that she surrounds herself with are all very professional as well.

So it’s kinda, you know, I don’t mean this to sound bad, but it’s kinda hard to compete with that.”

Carrie and Cody are facing off in the Video of the Year category for this years fan-voted CMT Awards, but this collab certainly has my attention…

Cody shared back in early February that he’s been in the studio working on new music, so hopefully we won’t have to wait too much longer to hear this new one from Cody and Carrie.

There has been no official announcement or anything like that quite yet, though, so stay tuned…

This years CMT Awards show will air on April 2nd on CBS at 8pmET, and will be hosted by Kane Brown and Kelsea Ballerini.

Last year at the show, CoJo delivered a kickass performance of his #1 hit “‘Til You Can’t”:
