Man oh man, it just can’t go exactly as you pictured it, can it?
I think it’s safe to say that proposing to your girlfriend has to be one of the most nerve-racking moments of any man’s life.
I mean c’mon, you’re literally asking the woman you love to spend the rest of her life with you. I don’t care if y’all have talked about it several times before, I can imagine it doesn’t make the nerves go away.
We’ve seen several proposal fails over the years, and your heart goes out to the guy who gets awkwardly left on one knee in front of thousands, as the girlfriend goes running off to who knows where
However, this proposal isn’t a fail (it’s actually really sweet, W for my guy), but by God it’s pretty funny.
Here we have a guy who took his girlfriend fishing, and that’s where he planned to pop the question.
At the beginning of the video, the girlfriend casts a line out into the water, and while her back is turned, the boyfriend gets on one knee and pulls out the ring.
First off, she had to know something was up, because what guy wears a nice button down while fishing? Maybe he does this all the time, but still a bit unusual.
But as the girlfriend casts the line, the unthinkable happens…
The line ends up getting caught in a tree.
Although he pleads for her to put the rod down, she’s adamant on getting the line out of the tree.
While he continues to plead, she proceeds to smack him upside the head with the rod while trying to get the line out…
And then, it finally hits her. She says:
“I’m scared to turn around… I know what’s happening, I don’t wanna turn around… I’m not ready.”
Finally, she turns around with tears in her eyes, and he asks her to marry him.
Although the delivery probably didn’t go as planned, it was still a beautiful and sweet proposal, nonetheless.
