And the award for most miserable SOB in Hollywood goes to…
As many of Hollywood’s biggest stars were filing into Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater for the 95th Annual Academy Awards tonight, all eyes were on the famous faces and the fashion choices, but one actor in particular was less than thrilled to be there.
Hugh Grant.
During a a red carpet interview with ABC Oscars red carpet host Ashley Graham, Hugh made it crystal clear that he wanted nothing to do with the dog and pony show.
And granted, I can’t blame him… sitting through three and a half hours of elitist, self-absorbed Hollywood zillionaires ramble on about their various social causes every time they win something sounds like torture. Not to mention Jimmy Kimmel is hosting… where’s Will Smith when you need him?
That being said, whether you want to be there or not, you generally smile and wave, go through the motions, shake a few hands, have a few drinks and call it a night.
Not Hugh Grant though…
He wore it all on his sleeve.
When asked if he was hoping to see anybody in particular win tonight, he said “no,” and when asked what he was wearing tonight (a common red carpet question), he sarcastically said, “my suit.”
Not giving her nothing…
Of course, the questions weren’t exactly riveting and at one point she asked him about starring in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which he made like a 10-second cameo in.
And he made sure to let her know:
“I’m barely in it, I’m in it for like three seconds.”
As much as Ashley tried to keep it on the rails, and continued to be professional and polite, Hugh finished the interview with an extremely obvious eye roll.
