Every sports fan is preparing for the Super Bowl this upcoming Sunday, as the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs face off in what should be an absolute thriller.

However, one NFL Network analyst won’t be in attendance, and it’s no other than Hall of Fame Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin.

According to The Dallas Morning News, Irvin has been suspended from the network after a woman complained about his conduct during an encounter on Sunday evening in Arizona.

NFL Media vice president of communications Alex Riethmiller said in a statement:

“Michael Irvin will not be a part of NFL Network’s Super Bowl LVII week coverage.”

Irvin told the outlet that the encounter in question occurred Sunday in Glendale, after he went out for drinks with former Cowboys safety Michael Brooks.

Once he got back to the hotel, he began talking to a woman, and Irvin says he’s surprised about the repercussions of their conversation:

“Honestly, I’m a bit baffled with it all. This happened in a 45-second conversation in the lobby when I got back after going out.

I came into the lobby, and I talked to somebody, I talked to this girl. I don’t know her, and I talked to her for about 45 seconds.

We shook hands, then I left… that’s all I know.”

He also said he doesn’t recall the nature of the conversation either, but said it was just a friendly conversation:

“I don’t really recall that conversation, to tell you the truth. We were out drinking. It was just a friendly conversation. ‘What’s up?’ I don’t even know… I am totally perplexed.”

A Glendale police spokesperson said that they have no knowledge of any incident involving Irvin, and Irvin said there “absolutely was no sexual wrongdoing.”

He continued:

“What law did I break? There was definitely nothing physical… That’s honestly all that happened. Nobody was in my room.

It was a 45-second conversation in the lobby, a handshake and we left… I don’t know. I don’t know what this is, and it’s running me crazy.”

I guess we’ll see if any further action is taken from the incident.
