Luke Combs Officially Releases The Long-Awaited Title Track To His Upcoming Album, “Growin’ Up & Gettin’ Old”

Been waiting a while for this one to finally drop.

Luke Combs teased an acoustic performance of “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” way back in 2021, and fans were immediately begging for this one to be included on an album.

But when Luke released his last project, Growin’ Up, last year, fans began to suspect that something was up when “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” didn’t appear on the tracklist.

Given the song’s title, everybody expected that there would be a second part to the album: One titled Gettin’ Old.

And after announcing that he would be releasing a new album on March 24, Luke confirmed this week that everybody’s suspicions about the album title were correct.

But we don’t have to wait until March for new music from Luke, because he just dropped the title track to the entire project, the long-awaited “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old.”

Written by Luke along with Channing Wilson and Rob Snyder, the song is an all-too-relatable look at how things change with the passage of time, when you go from hitting the bars every night to cherishing the nights spent at home:

“But I can still raise hell all night with the boys when I want to
Lay that hammer down to see how fast she’ll go
But these days I hang my hat on what I won’t do
I’ve been findin’ peace of mind slowin’ my roll
Learn to tow that line with time as it goes
In the middle of growin’ up and gettin’ old”

It’s a song that, even if you don’t understand it right now, you will at some point soon when the hangovers start to hurt a little more (ok, a lot more) and your priorities start to change as you slow down and appreciate the things around you.

But hey, that’s just all a part of “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old.”
