If you’re a guy around my age, chances are Britney Spears was one of your first childhood crushes.
She was one of the biggest pop stars in the world in the late ’90s and early ’00s. And despite her personal struggles in recent years, you can’t deny the mark that Britney has made on pop culture.
But what about country music?
Now obviously there’s nothing country about Britney’s music. But one country singer decided to turn one of her biggest hits into a traditional, stone-cold country song…and it kind of works.
Jeff Stauffer, a country artist from Ohio, posted a video on TikTok wondering whether Britney’s “Baby One More Time” could work as a country song.

The comments on the video were overwhelmingly positive, with people saying it sounded better than the original. So he decided to record it and release the full version, calling it a “fun, spur-of-the-moment project.”
Give it a listen – it’s not as bad as you might expect. And I’ve gotta say, I might prefer this one to the original.
