Ostrich Gets Decked By The Canadian Police

Ostrich

What did that ostrich do to have the police chasing him down?

Something like this only happens in small towns.

Ostriches are a funny looking animal. They are the largest bird in the world and can run up to 45 miles per hour for 15 minutes at a time. These massive birds can stand up to eight feet tall and up to 400 pounds.

And their kick can be devastating, nearly three times the force of a kickboxer.

These massive birds are farmed for their meat and multiple by-products like massage oil, hand cream, soap and lip balm.

A small town in Alberta, Canada, had an Ostrich catastrophe when 20 ostrich escaped and run rampant through the town of Taber per CTV News.

The ostriches escaped a nearby farm and made their way throughout the town. Local police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were called in to help when the ostriches became a traffic hazard.

A video made its way around the internet of an RCMP vehicle rolling up to an ostrich trying to make a getaway. A man hangs out the window to grab the bird, as he grabs its neck the bird completely wipes out running full throttle.

The ostriches were all found by the police and the farmer. One unfortunately did not make it home as it was involved in a car accident.

Imagine calling insurance and telling them you hit a 400 pound ostrich… that would be one helluva story.

Talk about some small-town excitement.
