Incase you haven’t heard, we have one of the wildest mashups I think I’ve ever heard of in my life coming our way soon, and it features no other than EDM/pop producer Diplo, rapper Kodak Black, and no other than Koe Wetzel.

Yeah, I never thought I’d hear those three names in the same sentence, but here we are.

The tune is called “Wasted,” a song that Diplo first hinted to back in June after the trio was posting videos of them all hanging out in Miami.

Koe also confirmed that the song was in the works on the Whiskey Riff Raff podcast in August, and we all knew it was only a matter of time before the song dropped.

Sure enough, Diplo shared another new teaser for the song last week, with a caption in the video that read:

“Met up with some friends in Florida… coming soon.”

And a written caption below that read:

“Almost time… Kodak Black, Koe Wetzel.”

Of course, there was still no confirmed date, but that all changed today as all three artists announced via Instagram that it’s dropping on Friday (Luckily enough, it’s the 13th), along with a very short clip of the song and music video:

Koe shared the story about how this song came about while on the podcast:

“Diplo hit me up, a song he was… he was just wanting to work together. And then he kinda hit me up, and he had a couple different artists he was sending me and sent me this Kodak track.

And I just kinda told him, you know, none of this is really going kinda the way that I’m wanting to throw the music out there.

And I was just gonna tell him, like legit, me and Dre are on the plane coming back, and I’m listening through everything, and he was kinda waiting on an answer.

And I was like, ‘Man, I think I’m just gonna you know, do my own thing. And we’ll work together, let’s cook something up one day.’

That night he sent me a track from Kodak, and was like, ‘What do you think about this? This is more your style.’

He threw some drums in it, a little guitar and bass drum. I was like, ‘Oh hell yeah.’ So we gave it to Kimball, we kinda worked it up, and then we went to New York and do some stuff with it.

It’s actually finished now, it sounds really fucking cool man. We’re excited about it, hopefully drop it here in the next month or so. Y’all are the first people to hear that.”

LET’S GET IT GOING.
