10-Foot Sturgeon Looks Like A Great White Shark Flying Out Of The Fraser River

Big sturgeon breaks surface

This looks like a scene from Jurassic Park.

It’s no secret that sturgeons are borderline dinosaurs, as their species dates all the way back to the Jurassic period somewhere between 174 to 201 million years ago.

So, needless to say, whenever one of these creatures are spotted, or caught while fishing, it’s a pretty big deal.

An insane video of a sturgeon jumping from the water next to a fishing boat has gone viral, earning 55 MILLION views on TikTok.

It all went down during a Yves Bisson charter on British Columbia’s Fraser River, one of the premiere white sturgeon fishing destinations in the world, and you can see the near 10-foot long sturgeon leaping out of the water in an effort to shake the hook, and rolling back over.

The Yves Bisson Sturgeon Co. shared in an Instagram post:

“This was an insane jump right beside the boat. Unbelievable this video already had 55M views on TikTok and will most likely be my most viewed video of the year soon.”

Bisson told For The Win Outdoors that the fish was tagged, and then released due to ongoing research of white sturgeon in the Fraser River.

The massive fish measured 9 feet, 10 inches, and had a girth of 54 inches, and weighed a whopping 550 pounds.

Although the sturgeon was big, Bisson says that they’ve had clients fish 1,000 pounders before.

Needless to say, I’m incredibly jealous of the people who were lucky enough to get on this charter.

If you wanna hunt some river monsters, you know where to go.
