We all know New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick as one of the most monotone and blunt individuals in the NFL.
At first glance, you would think the guy doesn’t have a personality at all…
But think again, because this story is absolutely hilarious.
Peyton Manning shared a story on the Monday Night Football ManningCast last night, alongside brother Eli and sports analyst and die-hard Patriots fan Bill Simmons, about Bill Belichick.
Peyton played under Belichick in a Pro-Bowl one year, and he recalled a time the famed coach picked Chargers long snapper David Binn to play for one reason, and one reason only:
“He picked David Binn, who was a long snapper, because he was dating Pamela Anderson, and Bill thought the players would like seeing Pamela at the pool in Hawaii.
She didn’t come… but that’s a cool Belichick story.”
Damn, David. You had one job, and that was to bring out arguably the most beautiful woman of the ’90s and early 2000s who you just so happened to be dating.
Binn also appeared on the ProFootballDoc podcast to discuss the story, and it’s 100% true:
“Anyway first practice, which is pretty much nothing… just kinda like stretch, mess around a little bit, and walk off the field. I’m walking off, and I walk by Bill and he goes, ‘Hey, where’s your girlfriend?’
And I said ‘Oh, Pam? She didn’t come out.’
He said, ‘Remind me why the f*ck I invited you out here, then?’
And he gave me this deadpan look… and I thought he was kidding, but he didn’t crack a smile and I thought, ‘Wait, are you serious? Is he kidding?'”
Sounds like he wasn’t kidding…
Well David, just look at the bright side… you got to date Pamela Anderson, and made the Pro-Bowl for it in the same year.
I’d say that’s a W.
