Twitter Flames TBS For Lame ‘House Of The Dragon’ Promo During Yankees ALDS Game Last Night

House of the dragon tbs

Ah give me a break.

There’s really nothing more annoying than one of your favorite sports team’s games getting interrupted for some dumb marketing campaign that the company is paying a boatload of money to broadcast…

And here’s your latest example.

While the Cleveland Guardians squared off against the New York Yankees in the Bronx last night for game one of the ALDS, an obscure interruption occurred…

A CGI dragon for House of the Dragon, the prequel series for Game of Thrones.

During the game, broadcaster Bob Costas tried his damndest to put his acting abilities to the test, as he announced in the booth:

“Now, you know, big sellout crowd here, but we weren’t 100% sure this game was gonna be played tonight.

And for more, it’s shocking. Here’s Lauren Shehadi.”

Once the cameras cut to Shehadi, she says:

“Guys, thank you so much, wild stuff. Here’s what we know…

Apparently, one of the stars of HBO’s ‘House of the Dragon’ has decided to take in a ball game here in The Bronx. Officials are hopeful the dragon won’t breathe fire during game play, but we’ll see if he complies.”

And then the CGI dragon flew right over Shehadi’s head and over Yankee Stadium.

I mean c’mon, this is pretty lame.

Why can’t they just play a commercial? Not to mention, what did this even tell people who’ve never heard of House of the Dragon before to make them wanna watch it?

Absolutely nothing.

And we’re 8 weeks into Season 1 at this point…

Not to mention, they made one of the greatest sports broadcasters of all time, Bob Costas, say those corny lines and have everybody thinking there was a serious threat at Yankee Stadium last night.

In all seriousness, nobody gave a rip about the cringe move by TBS, and the proof is in the pudding:
