This thing about Miss Kelly Clarkson is, she knows her country music, that’s for damn sure.
Of course, we’ve seen her do countless country covers on the Kellyoke segment of her show, and she never fails to impress.
And this week, she’s totally bringing it with a cover of Sierra Ferrell’s song “Jeremiah.”
Included on Sierra’s 2021 Long Time Coming debut album, it’s pretty cool to see Kelly shining the spotlight of an up-and-coming independent artist, who I’m sure will be discovered by tons of her viewers thanks to this performance.
If you take a quick scroll through the Youtube comments on this video, you’ll quickly find that’s the case for a lot of people who are saying they’ve understandably never heard of this song or Sierra, but are going to look into her now.
That in and of itself is a boss move from Kelly, sharing good country music with the world on her very popular daytime TV talk show, which just kicked off a new season.
And I swear,I know I say this every time, but Kelly could sing the dang phonebook and make it sound like a hit.
If she ever decides she wants to do a country album, I’ll be the first one in line to buy it:
