Maren Morris Responds To Brittany Aldean’s “Don’t Tread On Our Kids” T-Shirt With Her Own

Maren Morris made headlines last week when she spoke out against Brittany Aldean for making what some considered to be an anti-trans comment on Instagram

Aldean shared a video of herself putting on makeup, with a caption that read:

I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life”

Of course, the post sparked a very public argument between Aldean and Morris, after Cassadee Pope called Brittany out.

Marren Morris, who responded in a tweet, said:

“It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ons and zip it, insurrection Barbie.”

Aldean then responded by launching a “Don’t Tread On Our Kids” clothing line to benefit Operation Light Shine, a Nashville-based organization that combats human trafficking and child exploitation.

Fox News pundit Tucker Carlson then weighed in, calling Morris a “lunatic… fake country music person.”

However, Morris took it in stride and within a day launched a T-shirt line featuring Carlson’s words, as well as the Peer Support & Crisis Hotline for trans-gender youth.

After launching the shirt yesterday, within 2 hours Morris had already reached $63k in sales.

Morris then tweeted again, less than 24 hours later, announcing that the shirt sales had surpassed $100k.

“Over $100k raised.

Have a great Labor Day weekend, lunatics”

Morris’ website states that all of the proceeds will be split between GLAAD’s Transgender Media Program and Trans Lifeline.

GLAAD confirmed to People on Saturday that sales of Morris’ shirts had surpassed $100,000.

The feud has produced other considerable effects, most notably with Brittany’s husband: country star, and outspoken conservative, Jason Aldean.

On Thursday, September 1, Jason was dropped from his longtime PR firm, GreenRoom. The PR firm however did not specify Brittany’s remarks as the basis for the decision… although, it seems rather obvious.

Brittany Aldean has maintained that her words have been “taken out of context” and that she is only looking out for children.
