Mike And The Moonpies Officially Set To Make Grand Ole Opry Debut

IT’S ABOUT DAMN TIME.

Mike and the Moonpies are the definition of “countrier than shit,” and are finally starting to get some much deserved recognition, even though they’ve been killing the independent country scene for over a decade now.

I mean, if you want a Texas honky tonk country band, they’re about as good as it gets.

Speaking of much deserved recognition, the group has officially announced that they’ll be making their Grand Ole Opry debut on September 6th.

“It’s a dream come true to share the news with y’all that we will be making our OPRY DEBUT on September 6!. Somebody pinch us! You can get your tickets now and join us in-person.”

It still blows my mind that it has taken this long for a group this good to be invited to play on one of the most iconic stages in all of country music, but I guess there’s no better time than now.

It also seems like the Opry is making a push lately to get some great country acts on stage, the ones outside of the Nashville mainstream.

Speaking of Mike and the Moonpies, if you aren’t too familiar, I highly suggest you checkout their 2021 One To Grow On album. It was hands down one of the best albums of last year.
