Timmy Tyler and Bobby Weir… how ’bout it?

Yesterday, Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir shared a picture rehearsing with the great Tyler Childers, ahead of back-to-back nights at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

And then today, Weir shared the news on Instagram that he and his band Wolf Bros. (as well as the Wolfpack) would officially be joined by Tyler both nights, as well as Grammy winning bassist Ron Carter, and Brittney Spencer to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his debut album, Ace.

“Almost time to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of ‘Ace’!

Join Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros featuring The Wolfpack streaming LIVE tonight and tomorrow night with special guests including Tyler Childers, Ron Carter and Brittney Spencer.”

Released in 1972, Ace was Weirs first “solo album,” although aside from Ron “Pigpen” McKernan, it featured every member of Grateful Dead, and featured studio recordings of live hits like “Playing in the Band,” “Black-Throated Wind” and “One More Saturday Night.”

The 50th-anniversary concerts will also be livestreamed on FANS Live.
