Flatland Cavalry Jam Out A Cover Of Waylon Jennings’ “Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way” In Nashville

You gotta respect the classics.

The boys from Flatland Cavalry know how to put on a damn good show, whether they’re playing their own fan favorites, or mixing in a few stellar covers.

In particular, the group has been known to do a little Turnpike Troubadours, and damn if that just isn’t a beautiful sight to see.

However, Cleto and the boys were recently down in Nashville and broke out a kickass cover that I’ve never heard them play before.

The fellas cranked out a cover of Waylon Jennings’ 1975 hit “Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way,” off of his album Dreaming My Dreams. Released in August of 1975, it was the lead single from the album Dreaming My Dreams, and would go on to be his fourth number one.

Now if there’s a few things the state of Texas is known for, it’s their music scene and BBQ (well, and high school football, but that’s not what we’re talking about here).

And Texas country and Texas BBQ is exactly what you get with the upcoming Troubadour Festival, a three-day, three-town, Texas music and food experience like you’ve never seen before.

The first leg is slated for June 4th in Georgetown, Texas, this year’s event features performances from the Texas country supergroup The Panhandlers, which is comprised of Cleto Cordero, William Clark Green, Josh Abbott, and John Baumann.

There will also be individual performances from the Josh Abbott Band, Flatland Cavalry, William Clark Green, and John Baumann, as well as support from Jacob Stelly, Slade Coulter, Parker Ryan, and Jordan Nix.

Not to mention, 43 of the best BBQ joints in the Lone Star state will be there as well, serving you up the best BBQ imaginable.

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 18th at 10 AM CST.
