Grand Ole Opry 2005: Alan Jackson, Charley Pride, Vince Gill And More Sing Gospel Medley For 80th Anniversary

For so many of the country artists we’ve known and loved for practically our whole lives, one of their longtime goals was to play Grand Ole Opry.

With that being said, a number of artists owe credit to the Opry stage, and that’s why we’re spinning it back all the way to 2005, at the Opry’s 80th Anniversary celebration at New York’s Carnegie Hall.

In celebration, stars like Charley Pride, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, Martina McBride, Trace Adkins, Trisha Yearwood, Bill Anderson, Little Jimmy Dickens, Ricky Skaggs, and Alison Krauss all joined the Carnegie Hall stage together to perform a medley of “I’ll Fly Away,” “I Saw The Light,” and “Will The Circle Be Unbroken.”

Alan Jackson got the crowd on their feet with “I’ll Fly Away,” with everybody else singing backup vocals, and quickly transitioned to “I Saw The Light,” led by Trace Adkins.”

Last but not least, Ricky Skaggs, Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, and Bill Anderson closed things out with “Will The Circle Be Unbroken.”

Talk about a cool moment in country music history.
