Paying tribute to one of the all time greats.
If there was a Mount Rushmore of country music, there’s a 100% chance the Merle Haggard’s face would be plastered in stone on the edge of a mountainside.
His famed country music career, along with his wild journey from prison to the top of country music, has made him one of the most iconic faces in the history of the genre.
With that being said, the Grand Ole Opry has created the ultimate one night tribute for the man, as a number of singers who have been influenced by Haggard’s storied career, will cover his songs on the Opry stage on Wednesday, April 6th.
Singers like Suzy Bogguss, Merle’s son Marty Haggard, Cody Johnson, Joe Nichols, Eli Paperboy Reed, Lainey Wilson, and others will perform a number of the man’s hits, along with their own songs influenced by him.
Tickets for “Opry Salutes Merle Haggard” go on sale tomorrow, March 10th at 10 AM.
Get ready, this is gonna be a good one.
