Yep, I wasn’t planning on crying happy tears on a Saturday morning, but here I am.

It’s been a number of years since Heartland wrecked every father of a bride to be’s world with “I Loved Her First” back in 2006.

The tear jerker about a father giving away his daughter to her fiancé on her wedding day was written by Elliott Park and Walt Aldridge, but recorded and made famous by the country group.

Needless to say, it’s been a mainstay song at wedding song for father-daughter wedding dances across the nation.

With that being said, this dad decided to take the song and make it his own, surprising his daughter and son-in-law with a moving rendition of the song.

Behind a keyboard, he steps up in front of everybody at the reception, and initially teases the crowd with “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac.

However, after a few lines, he quickly transitions to “I Loved Her First,” and the waterworks start flowing like Niagara Falls across the room.

Before he even hits the chorus, you see his daughter wiping away her tears as he sings the song for the newlyweds.

Talk about a moving moment.
