Canadian Runner Breaks His Own Record For Fastest “Beer Mile”

Wow, talk about the things I had no idea existed.

I’ll go ahead and say it, doing any kind of physical activity while drinking can get pretty tiring.

However, imagine running a mile, and pounding four beers while you’re at it? I mean, I’m kinda getting a little nauseous just thinking about it.

Apparently, there are several dudes out there who can run a mile while drinking four beers, and they do it really well…

I’m talking running under FIVE MINUTE MILES… while drinking four beers.

Back in 1989, a few buddies in Canada (of course it’s Canada) decided to get together and run a mile, while also downing four beers.

I’m not sure what the thought process was behind this was… Were they trying to see who could do it without yacking?

Who knows.

Anyways, a few years later, they made up the “Official Kingston Rules,” after showing the game to their college friends, and they consisted of:

1) The beer you drink must have a 5% ABV

2) The beer must be in a can, and you can’t have a drinking aid

3) Anyone who pukes has to run an extra lap

Easy enought?

Needless to say, the game garnered some huge popularity. So much popularity, that they now have a world championship for it.

On October 23rd, the 7th annual Beer Mile World Classic was held in Leigh, England.

Apparently this Canadian dude named Corey Bellmore is really good at it, as he posted the world record for fastest mile in the beer run, at a staggering 4:33 back in 2017.

Needless to say, he was out to break his own record this year… and that’s exactly what he did.

He posted a mind boggling 4:28, all while chugging four Beer Mile Lagers from Canada’s Flying Monkey Craft Brewery. On top of that, he did it all while not throwing up.

Pretty impressive my guy.
