Brandi Carlile Makes Saturday Night Live Debut With Knockout Performances Of “Broken Horses” And “Right on Time”

Brandi Carlile made her Saturday Night Live debut over the weekend, and it certainly did not disappoint.

She was the musical guest alongside host Jason Sudeikis, and noted that her first appearance on the show was a dream come true:

“You sure do know how to make a girls dreams come true Saturday Night Live.

The twins and I are eternally grateful to have shared the stage with the comedic genius that is Jason Sudeikis and the wonderful once in a lifetime cast and crew at SNL – I will NEVER forget it.”

From her record In These Silent Days, that was just released at the beginning of October, she crushed a performance of “Broken Horses,” which she co-wrote with Phil and Tim Hanseroth.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a cooler, more effortless performer. And those vocals… she’s just on another level.

This was easily the highlight of the night:

She also sang “Right on Time”, which she also wrote with Phil and Tim Hanseroth, as well as the great Dave Cobb:

And yesterday, she announced her Beyond These Silent Days tour, so you should definitely plan to catch a live show in 2022:

Brandi also revealed that her music will not be considered Americana or Country for the upcoming 2022 Grammy Awards, but rather they will be considered for the Pop category.

She called the decision flattering, but was ultimately disappointed.

Of course, Kacey Musgraves made headlines recently for the same reason, with her new album Star-Crossed being ruled ineligible for consideration in the Country category.
