After nearly two years at home, he’s hitting the road on a massive 55-city headlining tour that will run through the spring of 2022.
As someone who has been extremely sad without live music for much of the last year and a half or so, I’m absolutely ecstatic to finally get to see Eric in real life soon. Knowing that there’s so much new music I’ll get to hear for the first time live makes it all the more exciting.
If you’ve ever seen Eric at a live show before, then you obviously know how many great songs he picks specifically for each different city. With such an expansive catalog, it’s nearly impossible that you’ll end up hearing every one of your favorites at any given show.
But, that’s what makes him such a great artist. Imagine having that much great music to sort through.
And, with the arrival of his triple album Heart & Soul earlier this year, it’s only intensified the challenge of making the perfect setlist for each tour stop:
“The hardest thing I’ve done thus far in my career is this setlist. Because you add 28 songs, it’s not a normal record, it’s three.
So, you add 28 songs to what we already had going, which is a pretty stacked and packed setlist. And when you start to try to get rid of stuff and change it every night, which I’m committed to, we’re still gonna play a different set.
We’re gonna give people different experiences. It has been maddening.”
