Joey Logano Says Beef With Denny Hamlin Will “Absolutely” Carry Into NASCAR Playoffs

The playoffs are already off to a hot start.

Kyle Larson was crowned the regular season champ, Ryan Blaney is taking back to back wins into the playoffs and Joey Logano is still pissed at Denny Hamlin.

During this past week’s race at Daytona, Logano took the second stage and was leading with just seven laps to go in the final stage when a flat tire brought his night to a halt. He was able to pit, but wound up finishing 23rd.

And he blames Hamlin for causing it.

“We had a shot to win there and the 11 just threw a late block and fenced me and then I had a right rear down.

Luckily, I didn’t take out the whole field that time, but that got taken care of the next lap, so it probably wouldn’t have mattered.”

When Logano was asked if the current animosity would carry over into the playoffs, he had one word…

“Absolutely.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time Hamlin and Logano have gotten into it. Their rivalry goes back years, but came to blows on pit road back in 2019, at Martinsville Speedway.

Hamlin finished the regular season in seventh, and will take 2,015 points in to the playoffs, while Logano sits in ninth with 2,013 points.

The playoffs start next Sunday with the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.
