Those Stapletons sure are some good people.

Floodwaters swept through Middle Tennessee this past weekend, leaving at least 21 dead and numerous others still missing.

One of the victims of the flooding was Loretta Lynn’s ranch foreman, Wayne Spears, who was tragically swept away by the floodwaters at the ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

Heartbreakingly, the death toll includes twin seven-month olds Ryan and Rileigh, who were swept out of their father’s arms in Humphreys County as he tried to get them to safety.

In the wake of the tragedy, friends of the family set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses and to help them begin to rebuild their lives after losing their house in the flood.

And the top donation to the campaign?

$10,000 from none other than Chris Stapleton‘s wife, Morgane.

The country music couple have five children of their own, so I can imagine that the twins’ story hit near and dear to their own hearts.

The campaign has already raised close to $100,000 for the grieving family, who posted an update thanking donors for their generosity.

“I just wanted to say how thankful our family is for everybody donating and supporting us at this very difficult time.

You all are like angels to us right now and we appreciate everything everyone has done. It is things like this of everyone helping that gets us through such hard times in life.”

Obviously no amount of money is going to take away the pain of losing your two precious babies, but good for Chris & Morgane for helping to make things just a little easier for this grieving family.
