Here we go again…

Only a few days after receiving the news that Lynyrd Skynyrd had to cancel a few shows after guitarist Rickey Medlocke tested positive for COVID-19, we’re seeing a similar situation arise from another Southern rock band.

Blackberry Smoke canceled their concert in Jacksonville, Florida, last night after guitar player Paul Jackson tested positive for COVID, according to Rolling Stone.

The band was only seven dates into their Spirit of the South Tour.

They released the following statement regarding the cancelations:

“Unfortunately we are unable to continue with tonight’s Spirit of the South Show. Paul Jackson reported feeling symptoms of Covid 19, was tested immediately, and found to be positive. In order to ensure the safety of the rest of the band, crew, staff, and fans, we need to immediately halt the tour.

We will let everyone know within 24-48 hours about refunds or rescheduled dates for tonight’s show and any others that will be affected. We will absolutely keep you all informed as those decisions are made.”

The next stop on the tour is supposed to land in Baltimore tomorrow night, however, hard to see a scenario where that one is happening as well.

Stay tuned…
