Miranda Lambert Puts New Twist On Fan-Favorite “Tequila Does” With EDM Remix

Great…

Every time I listen to this song, I want a shot of tequila.

Miranda Lambert is putting a new twist on her boozy drinkin’ song “Tequila Does,” the third different version we’ve gotten of it since she first put it on her Wildcard record in 2019.

Let’s go ahead and get this out of the way: no, this version is not a country song. It’s a Telemitry remix (AKA country songwriter Jesse Frasure) of a country song that will probably find its way to a lot of people’s summer playlist that have never listened to Miranda before, if I had to guess.

Obviously, I love the original and The Marfa Tapes version the most, but it’s kind of cool to hear her like this. Also, how weird is it to hear her vocals on a super smooth, EDM sounding song? I’m kind of into it. It’s just so different.

If we’ve learned anything about her this past year with The Marfa Tapes, it’s that she’s a much stronger vocalist than she’s ever really gotten credit for.

And guess what? The main reason I wrote this was to reiterate my point that this song should, in fact, be her next single… I mean, not this version, but you know you have a good song when it sounds good regardless of how it’s played from a lyrical standpoint.

And, I’ll go ahead and admit… I do find this version really fun. And while EDM music isn’t usually my taste, but I never heard a Miranda song I didn’t like.

If we can get country music to the club, well hell, why not. Maybe some people will find the originals that way.

Go ahead and add this to the mile-high list of great music we have to listen to this weekend, along with Randall King, Riley Green, Midland, Jesse Daniel and more:
