The squad we all know and love off of the hit ’90s to early 2000’s TV show Friends is gearing up for their highly-anticipated reunion.
However, when the promo materials finally dropped, fans had a lot to say… particularly about Matthew Perry.
Matthew Perry, who plays Chandler on the show, was seen slurring his words in the video, and it was pretty apparent that at the time of filming, he wasn’t in good shape. He started slurring speech while answering a question about if he stole a souvenir from the original set after the show ended, and he responded:
“I stole the cookie jar that had the clock on it.”
It’s pretty scary, especially after he’s been very open about his battles with addiction in the past.
In the past, he’s discussed how there was a time between seasons three and six where he doesn’t remember filming at all while he was struggling with addiction.
Of course, he also made headlines more recently after an old dating app video was leaked. He has since announced his engagement to literary manager Molly Hurwitz, and plans to get married soon.
Let’s hope this was just an off day, but needless to say, fans definitely noticed the changes in his voice:
But I really feel sorry looking at Mathew. What happened to him
I love joey but with time Chandler becomes my favourite character.

Wishing #MatthewPerry sustained recovery over his #addictions. I’ve never done drugs or abused alcohol. No idea what it’s like. But, I’m human, and can empathize with the suffering of others. #youcandothis

I watched 5 seconds of the Matthew Perry video and became extremely uncomfortable. Why would they put that in a promo?

Something is not right with Matthew Perry. Speech sounded off, as though he may have had a stroke in the past.
