Willie Nelson Joins Hootie & The Blowfish For 1995 Farm Aid Performance Of “Let Her Cry”

Here’s a sweet throwback for your Tuesday.

Back when Darius Rucker was Hootie in Hootie & The Blowfish (I’m kidding, he’s not, nor was he ever, Hootie), they were blowing the roof off of just about every venue they set foot in with their signature ’90s alternative rock style.

They had several huge hits during their 22 year run, and perhaps their biggest hit was their 1994 song, “Let Her Cry.” To this day, it’s still a huge fan favorite at concerts… and I’d even argue pretty damn country for the ’90s rock scene.

Perhaps one of the most memorable performances of the song though, came at the 1995 Farm Aid concert in Louisville, Kentucky. A benefit concert for farmers all across the nation, Willie Nelson is one of the original founders of the annual event, along with Neil Young and John Mellencamp.

Why was this the most memorable performance you ask?

Because no other than Mr. Shotgun Willie himself came on stage and played guitar with the band during the song.

Real recognizes real, you gotta love it.

Take a look at this badass moment in time, it’ll take ya straight back to the good ol’ days of the ’90s.

And speaking of Hootie, have you seen this Key & Peele “Hootie” sketch?

It’s hysterical.
