There’s no questioning that Dolly Parton is one of the most beloved country stars and purest souls to ever walk this earth.
I mean, she’s constantly giving back to the community, and that trend has continued as she teamed up with Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream to release her very own ice cream flavor, “Strawberry Pretzel Pie.”
Of course, in good ol’ Dolly fashion, the ice cream flavor was released on April 8th to raise money for her non-profit, Imagination Library, an organization that gives free books to children between birth to age five.
Dolly and Jeni’s only released 10,000 pints to the public, and according to TMZ, the ice cream flavor turned out to be a much bigger hit with the fans than expected.
The pints sold like a wildfire, and some of the lucky few who got to get their hands on the pints decided to make a little profit on eBay.
And when I say profit, we’re talking $1,000.
That’s right, Jeni’s website was going through some technical difficulties, and the site said that all of the pints were sold out. You already know there were some people out there who were gonna take advantage of the situation.
To those of you trying to order Strawberry Pretzel Pie online, we are so sorry. This sucks. The flavor is NOT sold out. Our website issues have lasted longer than expected, but we are working on it and will let you know via email and social media when we’re back up and running.

Could you imagine wanting a flavor of ice cream so desperately, you drop a grand? I mean sheesh, I walk through the grocery store and I feel like I break the bank when I get a pint that’s over $6-7 bucks. Luckily enough, nobody was dumb enough to spend that kind of money on ice cream.
Of course, there were some other eBay users who listed the price at a much cheaper and respectable $35, but given that Jeni’s pints normally go for $12, that’s still a significant difference.
Jeni’s has sent an update on the re-launch, stating on their website that they’re working hard to get everything back up to speed and have the pints back on the market.
As promised, we’ll give 48-hour notice via email and social media before we release Strawberry Pretzel Pie, but we wanted to let you know that it won’t be this weekend. Thank you, again, for your patience! (2/2)
