15 Great Country Gospel Songs From Alan Jackson, Dolly Parton, George Strait & More

Alan Jackson country music

Happy Easter, y’all.

In the spirit of the holiday, I wanted to put together a list of the best country gospel covers of all time for this Sunday in particular. There have been so many iconic country singers who’ve recorded gospel albums and old hymns throughout the years that are just incredible.

It seems like country artists more than any other genre have so much crossover with the gospel/Christian genre. Maybe it’s because so many artists like Carrie Underwood, Alan Jackson, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn and so many others grew up singing in church and have such a strong connection to the music from their childhood.

It was nearly impossible to pick just fifteen, so I only included covers of hymns and tried to only include any certain artist once (except for Alan and Dolly, because their gospel songs are so good I just couldn’t help myself).

Enjoy:

How Great Thou Art, Carrie Underwood ft. Vince Gill

I’ll Fly Away, Randy Travis

Power In The Blood, Dolly Parton

Go Rest High On That Mountain, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss & Rick Skaggs
