Happy Koe Wetzel Day.
February 28th marks a national holiday among Koe Wetzel fans.
On that fateful day back in 2016, Koe was arrested for public intoxication in Stephenville, Texas, and spent a few nights in jail. And while he was already kind of working out the idea for this song prior to the incident, he found himself with an awesome new title and WAY more inspiration after the arrest. He finished writing the song shortly after he got out.
And fan favorite “February 28, 2016” was born.
The song would go on to become one of, if not THE biggest hit in his arsenal of songs, and to this day, February 28th continues to be celebrated among the die hard Koe Wetzel fans.
