Waffle House To Launch 6.5% Bacon-Infused Beer, “Bacon & Kegs”

A couple of boxes of food

I need it.

Waffle House is teaming up with Georgia-based Oconee brewing to bring you their very own beer.

6.5% abv.  Dark red in color.  The beloved scent of bacon stands out from the typical medium hop aroma of a red ale.  The malty sweetness of the base beer blends perfectly with the salty, savory, and smokey bacon extract to create a delicious and unique beer. Bacon & Kegs pairs well with breakfast food items (obviously!) or can be enjoyed as a stand-alone, soon to be iconic beer. Bacon & Kegs will be available in six packs or draft (including growlers) exclusively at Oconee Brewing Company beginning Friday, December 18.

According to Leslie Tillery, Oconee’s media director, the collaboration started at the beginning of the year, but due to COVID, saw some delays in production:

“This story began in January with someone with Waffle House being kind enough to respond to an email that I sent proposing a collaboration. That initiated communication with some of the executive team at the Atlanta corporate office. After a COVID delay, our two groups held a taste test at Oconee Brewing Company and chose a bacon-infused red ale to release as the first ever Waffle House beer!”

As of right now, Bacon & Kegs will only be available in six-packs (or on draft) at the brewery in Greensboro, beginning December 18th. However, they expecting a larger launch to follow.
