Terry Bradshaw has officially joined Colin Cowherd in the “I hate Baker Mayfield” club.
In a recent episode of The Heard with Colin Cowherd, Bradshaw got to talking with Colin about young quarterbacks in the NFL and he didn’t mince words when it came to opinions on flashy quarterbacks.
He said Tua Tagovailoa was gonna be a star, he said Kyler Murray “won him over” and of course he praised studs like Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson, but he tore into guys like Baker Mayfield.
“I don’t like Baker Mayfield. I never did like Baker Mayfield. I don’t like people like that. I’m a character guy. I’ve never met the man, he might be the most wonderful human being in the world. But his body language and the way he acts, it’s a turnoff for me.”
He continued that Cam Newton was initially a turn off for him as well, and so was Johnny Manziel. He even mentioned Aaron Rodgers briefly in the conversation as well.
“When Cam Newton came out, I didn’t like Cam Newton… I don’t like that stuff, that’s just me. Manziel I couldn’t stand either, I don’t like guys like that, shut your mouth up.”
Granted, this probably the kind of take you expect to hear from guys that are Terry’s age, and at the end of the day, he chalked it up to a product of his old school raising.
“Look, I don’t like it because that’s not the way I was raised. I was taught to have the ultimate respect for the people you are competing against. Have great humility and keep your mouth shut.”
The Browns have a bye week this Sunday so Baker will have more than enough time to mull over Terry’s words (his feud with Colin has been well documented). Will it light a fire under him? Or is it just another old guy with an outdated opinion?
