Josh Turner On Randy Travis’ First Time In Studio Since Stroke: “It’s Worth A Thousand Words”

Josh and Randy, what a friggin’ duo.

As far as true blue, real deal, no bullshit country music singers, Josh Turner might be the guy of the mainstream world, and has been for the past 20 years. It just doesn’t get more country than Josh.

His new cover album, Country State Of Mind, is downright fantastic, but more than just some great country covers, the album actually featured duets with many of his country music heroes.

Artists like John Anderson, Kris Kristofferson and even the great Randy Travis joined Josh on the album. And for Randy, it was his first time in the recording studio since his stroke in 2013.

“Randy was the reason I moved to Nashville. There were a ton of Randy songs I considered for this project. I couldn’t stop thinking about the times since his stroke I had seen him sing “amen” at various events in Nashville. This was the first time that Randy had been in the studio since his stroke. If a picture is worth a thousand words… this one word is worth a thousand words.”

Amen.

Watch the knockout acoustic version, featuring the great Randy Travis.
