In light of the global pandemic going on, and good live music coming at a premium these days, the Opry live streams have actually been really fun to watch.
We’ve seen Vince Gill and Reba, Luke Combs and Craig Morgan, Blake & Gwen, Ricky Skaggs, Margo Price, Ashley McBryde with Terri Clark and Lauren Alaina, Carly Pearce with Lee Brice and Michael Ray, and more.
All of these performances have been pretty stripped down, much more intimate, and much different than something you’d get a live show… and when it comes to an artist like Luke Bryan and Darius Rucker, I’d probably prefer it that way. Do I want to watch Luke Bryan from the nose bleeds of Soldier Field? Not really. Would I check out an acoustic set at the Grand Ole Opry where he swaps stories and songs with Darius Rucker? Yeah, probably.
Luke and Darius will be performing the Grand Ole Opry on August 15th. Rodney Crowell, Vince Gill and Emmylou Harris are set to play this coming Saturday, August 1st.
