Charlie Daniels Teaching Letterman How To Chew Tobacco Back In 1982 Is An All-Time Classic

Country music lost another legend this year.

The great Charlie Daniels has passed away this morning after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. He was 83.

Naturally, whenever someone passes away, you like to take a second to pause and reflect back on their life, their career, the legacy that they will leave behind. And after playing a couple old Charlie Daniels videos, I stumbled upon this gem from way back in 1982.

Charlie Daniels on Late Night with David Letterman.

Charlie introduces Dave to chewing tobacco for the very first time, details some of his studio work with artists like Bob Dylan and Ringo Star, and Charlie even treats Dave and the audience to a performance of “Wyoming On My Mind.”

RIP Charlie.

You will be greatly missed.
