Luke Combs’ “Even Though I’m Leaving” Packs An Extra Heavy Punch This Father’s Day

Luke Combs has EIGHT straight numbers ones, with his most recent being “Does To Me” featuring Eric Church.

The previous single, “Even Though I’m Leaving,” is worth revisiting as the ballad brings with it an en extra heavy and special meaning this Father’s Day. To put it simply, it’s a tear-jerker.

Combs co-wrote the song with Wyatt Durrette and Ray Fulcher, telling the story of a bond and relationship between a father and son through the years.

Just ’cause I’m leavin’ / It don’t mean that I won’t be right by your side / When you need me / And you can’t see me in the middle of the night / Just close your eyes and say a prayer / It’s okay, I know you’re scared when I’m not here / But I’ll always be right there / Even though I’m leavin’, I ain’t goin’ nowhere.
