Luke Combs Dedicates Acoustic Performance Of “Memories Are Made Of” To Recent Graduates

Taking it back to the debut album.

Written by Luke himself, along with Ray Fulcher and Cody Webb, “Memories Are Made Of” is a cut from Luke’s debut album This One’s For You.

And with graduations happening (or rather not happening) across the country right now, Luke couldn’t think of a better time to break out this old acoustic performance.

“I know a lot of y’all were supposed to be graduating about this time of the year, and I hate y’all aren’t getting to…  So I wanted to do a little something for y’all and I remembered this video we filmed of “Memories Are Made Of” – a song I feel like is pretty fitting for graduation. I hope y’all enjoy it.”

For me personally, the ceremony itself has never been anything to look back on and miss. At the end of the day, graduating is about remembering the good times, turning the page on a new chapter of life, and looking forward to making new memories wherever you’re headed. Sitting in a hot and sweaty room with a thousand people while someone reads the phone book wasn’t exactly fun for me. The party afterwards… that was fun.

Ceremony or not, here’s to the class of 2020.

“But we did, and we miss how it was when we were just kids
Looking back on the past wasn’t much, but it’s what we had
Just a couple buds and a good buzz was all it was
But that’s what memories are made of.”

Enjoy.
