Nicolas Cage To Play Joe Exotic In Upcoming Tiger King Series

It only took us til May, but finally there’s some good news in the year 2020.

Netflix’s popular Tiger King documentary is getting the green light on a scripted series and the star they got to play Joe Exotic himself… none other than Nicolas Cage.

According to Variety the eight-episode series is being produced by Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios and will be based on the Texas Monthly article “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild,” by Leif Reigstad.

The show will chronicle the rise and fall of Joe Exotic on his journey to becoming the world’s most famous tiger wrangler. Another series starring Kate McKinnon as Carole Baskin is supposed to be in the works as well.

This will also be Cage’s first television role and I have to say, I think they nailed it.

Brad Pitt was talked about, so was Edward Norton, Rob Lowe threw his hat into the ring, but you’re going to need someone with their own splash of psycho if you really want to capture the essence of everything that encompasses the legendary Joe Exotic. Nicolas Cage is fucking perfect.

No word on the rest of the cast, but we’re off to a strong start. If they could just get Matthew McConaughey to play John Reinke, then we’d really be cooking with peanut oil.

Stay tuned…
