Just when you thought you couldn’t love Matthew McConaughey any more, he goes and does something like this.
New to the Instagram, everybody’s favorite college professor gave us all an inside look at the morning tunes from inside his tiny Australian (very rentable) cabin and I have to say, I love what I’m seeing.
Now, for all you kids out there wondering what the hell this thing even is, it’s called a cassette tape. Before we had CDs, and WAY before there was this thing called Spotify, we had to use cassette tapes to listen to music. If you wanted to listen to your favorite song 4,294 times in a row, you had to rewind the tape each time. Pretty cool stuff.
Anyways, the Wild Turkey sipping, Lincoln driving, Texas loving, Renaissance man we all know and love is still on the cassette tape game and this morning, he shared a few of his personal favorites. What he called “friends of mine.” And his friends include the great Bob Dylan, Ali Farka Touré and Ry Cooder, and one that caught my attention… Mr. Sturgill Simpson.
