Miranda Lambert is releasing yet ANOTHER song from her upcoming album Wildcard tomorrow and at this point, I have to ask… when does it become too many?
“Pretty pink carpet on the floor, no lock on the door, help yourself to the Tito’s in the pretty kitchen, it’s Pretty Bitchin’.”
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a BIG Miranda Lambert fan, and a title like “Pretty Bitchin'” definitely peaks my curiosity, but after tomorrow we’re going to have six songs from the new album out and we’re still two months away from the release date. Nearly half of the record.
Drumming up some buzz is one thing, but when you’re Miranda Lambert, you don’t need it. You already have the buzz.
Call me old fashioned, but there’s something special about waking up to a brand new album and listening to the entire thing with fresh ears, every song in the context of a complete record. We’ve talked about this at length on the Whiskey Riff Raff podcast, but when you really love artist, appreciate their talent, and respect their work, release day makes you feel like a kid on Christmas morning. And Christmas morning just isn’t as fun when you already know what half of your presents are.
Anyways, “Pretty Bitchin'” out tomorrow, the full album out November 1st. Stay tuned…
