North Carolina Brewery Offers Free Beer For Stolen Van, Got It Back In 40 Minutes

It amazing what two little words like “free beer” can do to motivate someone.

In college it was “help me move and I’ll buy you pizza and beer,” which by the way, if you’re over the age of 25, you can not try and pull that shit. I’ve got better shit to do, hire some movers like a normal person.

However, these days, “free beer” will help you with some other things, like oh, I don’t know… recovering a stolen vehicle.

According to WRAL, the Charlotte-area brewery, The Unknown Brewing Company, had their company van stolen from right out in front of their facility. Naturally, they offered what they could for any information leading to the van’s recovery… free beer.

“We guess people take #livewithoutboundaries serious. 3 fine citizens stole one of our vans this AM. Please help us find it, & share. Who ever finds it, Brad will buy you a keg party! If you stole it and bring it back, you will also get a keg party. Please DM us if you see it.”

In just 42 minutes, a woman named Caroline spotted the stolen van parked on her street.

After tweeting at the Charlotte police department, they were able to send a unit out to this location and recover the van. Of course the brewery honored their promise and Caroline is now the proud owner of the The Unknown’s next keg party.

Hell, if a Chicago Brewery puts an APB out a stolen van, you can bet you ass I’m assembling a search party and we’ll have that bad boy found within the hour. With the beer-drinking degernates I hang out with, probably closer to 30 minutes.

In fact, I think this is beginning of a beautiful friendship between breweries and the general public. Need a new can design? Free beer. Need someone to rock some street team merch? Free beer. The possibilities are endless.
