New music from Sam Riggs IS HERE.
We had Sam on the podcast (Episode 66) a little while back, and had a damn good time talking about music, life, and a bunch more. He hinted at his sound changing a bit with the new music, which is evident with his new song, “Obsessed.” Don’t worry though, the song is still uniquely Sam Riggs.
Written by Riggs, Jared Scott, and Andy Sheridan (who also produced), “Obsessed” lays heavy on alt. rock-inspired guitar riffs while still laying heavily into the country songwriting foundation Riggs built his career on.
“Musically, the verses tend to draw you in with punchy guitars and synth with lyrics that relay the intoxicating effect someone can have on you,” Riggs says of the song. “The chorus is an absolute admission of love and obsession that has a little bit of crazy to it. This song always makes me grin and shrug my shoulders. I guess I’m ‘obsessed’ with it.”
