RIP Papa John’s, you had a good run.

Pizza Hut just announced that they will be expanding their new beer delivery service to over 1,000 locations nationwide. Yeah, they’re delivering cold sixers of Coors Light with your pie and subsequently burying Papa John’s at the bottom of the reasonably priced, fast food pizza totem pole.

But it’s not just Coors Light, the current beer lineup includes Blue Moon, Bud Light, Budweiser, Busch Light, Coors Light, Corona Extra, Kilt Lifter, Michelob Ultra, Miller Lite, Miller High Life, Shock Top and Stella Artois. And, if you just want a casual night in, you can get yourself a simple two-pack, as opposed to the standard six.

As the never-ending pizza war continues to rage, I constantly find myself in limbo to where my allegiances lie. On the one hand, Domino’s has the superior pizza. They just do. Ever since they changed the recipe a few years back, they’ve consistently cranked out a better product. Now, you have Pizza Hut delivering beer along with their pizzas which, let’s be honest, is HUGE. Add cheap beer to the equation and that pretty much will tip the scale in any scenario.

For the most part, it’s a two horse race. However, you do have a few out there that are loyal to Papa John’s and their sinfully delicious garlic butter sauce, but aside from that, their pizza tastes like a greasy stack of old newspapers. You NEED the butter sauce to even make it edible, but nevertheless, they’ve remained in a very distant 3rd place.

But now, with Pizza Hut taking this beer thing nationwide, you can all but put a fork in Papa John’s. They’re done.
