City Of Nashville Sues Blake Shelton’s Ole Red Bar

Uh oh…

According to the Tennessean, the Metro Historic Zoning Commission filed a lawsuit on Monday against Ryman Hospitality because of the exterior lights on Blake Shelton’s Ole Red Restaurant and Bar.

You’d think that a street filled with neon bar signs wouldn’t take issue with the red exterior lighting outside the bar, however the Historic Zoning Commission passed a policy back in August 2017 banning colored exterior lights in districts with historic overlays. In layman’s terms, old buildings can’t have colored lights on their outside walls.

The Complaint argues that Ole Red was only approved for white exterior lighting, not red.
