Yesterday, President Donald Trump voiced his support for Sydney Sweeney and her controversial American Eagle ad, which is a pretty ridiculous sentence when you think about it but here we are.
Sweeney, of course, has been under fire for the ad featuring the blonde bombshell making a joke about her “great jeans,” which sent the woke mob into a spiral of calling the commercial a “Nazi dog whistle,” because apparently saying she has great jeans is code for “great genes,” which is code for white.
Like I said, it’s pretty ridiculous.
Luckily American Eagle stood by the ad, releasing a statement defending themselves even as lunatics accused them of promoting white supremacy and eugenics:
“‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story. We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.”
And that’s how companies should stand up to these ridiculous smear campaigns these days: Mock them like the jokes that they are. A few years ago though, it seems like companies were quick to bend the knee and beg for forgiveness from the mob out of fear of losing business. Luckily the tide has turned, and it seems like standing up to the crazies actually ends up helping your business. Oh how things have changed…
Over the weekend though, the criticism from the fringe only intensified after the woke mob dug what they reported to be Sydney Sweeney’s voter registration, which allegedly shows her registering as a Republican in Florida back in 2024.
Naturally that sent the online mob after her once again, despite the fact that she’s never said anything remotely political and is one of the most popular actresses in the country.
It’s not the first time that Sweeney has had to deal with people digging in to try to figure out her political views. Back in 2022, the actress posted some photos and videos from her mother’s 60th birthday party, and folks online spotted some people in the background wearing MAGA-style hats that said “Make Sixty Great Again.”
Once again, it’s as ridiculous as it sounds.
Sweeney stood firm against the criticism then too, telling everybody to calm down and stop making a political statement over a goofy hat:
“You guys this is wild. An innocent celebration for my moms milestone 60th birthday has turned into an absurd political statement, which was not the intention. Please stop making assumptions.”
And while she may once again be under fire from some on the far left, she’s got the support of the President of the United States.
President Donald Trump was asked about the ad earlier today, and after finding out she’s a Republican, it turns out he’s a big fan of it:
“She’s a registered Republican? Oh, now I love her ad. Is that right, is Sydney Sweeney? You’d be surprised at how many people are Republicans. That one I wouldn’t have known, but I’m glad you told me that.
If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic.”
And this morning he took to his Truth Social platform to once again defend Sweeney and praise American Eagle for not backing down, while taking aim at companies like Jaguar and Bud Light for “going woke” and suffering because of it.
“Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the “HOTTEST” ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are “flying of the shelves.” Go get ‘em Sydney! On the other side of the ledger, Jaguar did a stupid, and seriously WOKE advertisement, THAT IS A TOTAL DISASTER! The CEO just resigned in disgrace, and the company is in absolute turmoil. Who wants to buy a Jaguar after looking at that disgraceful ad. Shouldn’t they have learned a lesson from Bud Lite, which went Woke and essentially destroyed, in a short campaign, the Company. The market cap destruction has been unprecedented, with BILLIONS OF DOLLARS SO FOOLISHLY LOST.”
But that wasn’t all. Trump then turned back to one of his favorite targets, Taylor Swift, to drive home his point:
“Or just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can’t stand her (HATE!). She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT. The tide has seriously turned — Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
