Helping clean up the mess she made.

The Emo Cowgirl, Megan Moroney, was putting some smiles on the faces of venue staff after her show in Athens, Georgia. Given that this is a homecoming show of sorts, since Moroney is a UGA alumnus, the Akins Ford Arena was packed to the brim for the first show of her two-night run there.

Moroney is the definition of taking the girl out of Georgia but never taking Georgia out of the girl as the “Lucky” singer sported a blinged out Universtiy of Georgia jersey on stage, and of course had to call her Dawgs during one portion of her show.

Like many other Megan Moroney shows, the night was filled with her running around the stage, playing guitar, and belting out lyrics to her “discography of sad songs” with her fans. With her stops in Georgia still being early on the list of tour dates, combined with the electric energy from the audience, the adrenaline was still pumping through her veins long after she got off stage.

But after acknowledging how great the first night with her band was, Moroney showed the Akins Ford Arena staff how thankful she is for them by going to help them clean up.

At the end of the night, Megan launches pounds of blue and white confetti into the air during one of her last songs on her setlist. The confetti signifies the colors of the Am I Okay? record and tour, which truly makes for a magical night’s end. While confetti in theory is always a good idea, it does make it a pain to clean up off the floor, especially when the venue has to be flipped for the second show the next night.

Instead of partying on her tour bus, Moroney saw the staff sweeping up the small paper pieces and ran back out to the floor, asking if anyone had a broom for her to help. Well, she did nearly twist her ankle thanks to her platform UGG boots before even reaching the floor, but thankfully, it was just a close call. (Talk about a tour injury that would really make her an Emo Cowgirl.)

“Anybody got a spare broom?!”

Moroney began sweeping the venue with a sad little broom, but was then upgraded to a lovely Zamboni-type cleaner.

Talk about a class act.

Naturally, fans began praising Moroney for getting to work after her show, but also were poking fun at the sad excuse of a broom she was given. Read a few of my favorites before you go.

“We made the right person famous.”

“WHERE IS THE OTHER HALF OF THAT BROOM?”

“The Emo Cowgirl clean-up crew don’t mess around.”

“Megan Zambroney.”

“That ain’t a broom, that’s a br….”

“Yep, she’s wifey material, boys,”

“We love a queen that helps out.”

“I’d volunteer as tribute!”

“She’s a caring & helpful queen.”

“Meg is officially a part of the clean-up crew.”

“This video just made me a fan for life.”

“Safe to say we made the right person famous.”

“God, I love her.”
