Watch Jason Kelce Belt Out “Total Eclipse Of The Heart” At Appalachian State Tailgate

Should Jason Kelce pursue a music career?

Since the former Philadelphia Eagles center has retired, he’s been exploring other career avenues and, frankly, just living his best life. Jason Kelce has continued to do his podcast with his brother Travis Kelce, is now a commentator for Monday Night Football, and is putting out his final Christmas record with his teammates, A Philly Special Christmas Party.

For what is supposed to be his final Christmas record, Kelce is pulling out all of the stops, releasing singles with Stevie Nicks and teaming up with Mt. Joy for a should ditty, “Santa Drives An Astrovan.”

While the Christmas record is all in good fun, Kelce should dabble in this area a little more because he has a killer set of pipes. Over the weekend, Jason Kelce attended the Appalachian State football game, where the Mountaineers took down James Madison University. During the tailgate, Jason Kelce might have won MVP for his performance of “Total Eclipse Of The Heart.”

I am not going to lie; when I saw that Jason Kelce attended the game, I was really hoping we’d get Bills Mafia Kelce again, taking his shirt off in the game, chugging beers, or taking bowling ball shots. Buffalo brings out a different side of Jason Kelce, and I LOVE it. But App State Kelce might be even better…

Ahead of kickoff, Kelce hit the tailgates as one does and somehow got looped into performing some karaoke.

“Nothing like a snowy Homecoming at App State, especially when Jason Kelce brings the house down with a live rendition of ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ at the tailgate!!”

Kelce confidently stepped up to the microphone while sporting his yellow and black coveralls. He lit that parking lot with his booming vocals, powerfully delivering the chorus. While his range is a little different than Bonnie Tyler’s, he does his best to hit those high female-ranging notes, and honestly, it’s not too shabby.

“And I need you now tonight
And I need you more than ever
And if you only hold me tight
We’ll be holding on forever
And we’ll only be making it right
‘Cause we’ll never be wrong
Together, we can take it to the end of the line
Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time…”

All of the App State fans around him had massive smiles on their faces, taking in every second of his performance. I also love how respectful they were to him, giving him ample space and not crowding him.

At the end of the chorus, after reaching for those high notes, he says into the microphone:

“I don’t know this part.”

But then was ready to dive back in for the next verse. Jason Kelce crushed this; not to say this is a fact, but I feel like this put some extra pep in the fans’ steps to help cheer the Mountaineers to victory.
